PM Modi’s reply to Congress in LS
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday cautioned Congress leadership that they will get a response in their own language, accusing the opposition of working to derail the progress of the country. He also accused Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi of childish behavior and reminded him that he was out on bail in corruption case and convicted of defaming backward caste. “I am warning the congress ecosystem that has worked towards derailing the progress of the country. I want to tell the ecosystem that their actions from now on will be responded to in their own language,” said Modi in Lok Sabha.
In a fiery speech, laced with potshots at the opposition and Rahul Gandhi, Prime Minister Modi said the BJP government followed ‘santushtikaran‘ and not ‘tushtikaran‘ amid continuous sloganeering by the I.N.D.I.A bloc MPs. Participating in the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address, PM Modi, in a swipe at Rahul Gandhi, said a conspiracy was being hatched to level false allegations against Hindus. Rahul Gandhi triggered controversy on Monday after he accused the BJP of spreading “violence, hatred and lies”, which, he said, were against the tenets of Hinduism.
“The Congress became a parasitic party in these polls, its allies are behind its victory in most of the 99 seats it won…On July 1, the country celebrated the ‘Khatakhat Diwas‘, and people checked their bank accounts to see whether they had received Rs.8,500 or not. The Congress misled the people and lied to our mothers and sisters,” said Modi chiding Congress.
As PM Modi started to speak, opposition members started shouting ‘Justice for Manipur’ and entered the Well of the House in protest. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was seen chiding Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for directing members to enter the Well. Undeterred by the slogans, the Prime Minister trained his guns on the Congress and compared his 10 years of governance to that of the UPA era. “People’s mandate for Congress is to sit where it is, in opposition,” he said amid the thumping of desks from the Treasury benches.
“We saw childish behaviour in Lok Sabha yesterday. Rahul is out on bail in a corruption case, convicted for insulting the OBC community, and facing several defamation cases. Today the country is telling him, tumse na ho payega,” said Modi attacking Rahul Gandhi.

“The people of this country have given a mandate to the Congress in the 2024 elections and the mandate of this country is that you sit in the opposition and when the arguments end, keep shouting. … The country has blessed us with our zero-tolerance policy towards corruption. Today. India’s credibility has increased across the world… The sole aim of our every policy, every decision, and every action has been ‘India first‘.
“If we remember those days of 2014, we will realize that the people of our country had lost their self-confidence. The country had drowned in the abyss of despair. I will work 24X7 for the 2047 ‘Viksit Bharat’ plan. Our third term means we will work at three times the speed, we will put in three times the energy.
Those who dance with the Constitution on their head did not dare to implement it in Jammu and Kashmir, they insulted B R Ambedkar,” said Modi, while the Opposition was sloganeering the whole time during his speech.
