BJP shares clip of PM Modi predicting Congress would reinstate Sam Pitroda

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju mocked the Congress party after reappointing the Gandhi family loyalist Sam Pitroda as the Chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress.

Rijiju said that Prime Minister Modi had already anticipated this move.

Sam Pitroda has made a return to the helm of the Indian Overseas Congress, months after stepping down from the post following a huge political controversy that erupted over his ‘racistremarks and comments on inheritance tax.

BJP accused the Congress party of betraying the trust of the people as Pitroda assumed his previous role soon after the Lok Sabha 2024 polls.

The Congress party has assured that Sam Pitroda would not give any statement that “in the future leaves room for controversies to arise.”

Rijiju posted an old video of Prime Minister Modi, in which he says that Sam Pitroda’s controversial statements are not accidental but rather a deliberate strategy by the Congress party to stir up new issues in the country.

Taking to X, Rijiju posted, “Prime Minister Modi ji has already said! Rahul Gandhi Ji’s adviser, who said, South Indians look like Africans, North-Eastern people look Chinese, West Indians are like Arabs & North Indians are whites is reinstated. We are not surprised as PM Narendra Modi ji had predicted.”

PM can be heard saying, “I don’t believe he does it voluntarily because he is suspended from the party following his contentious remarks and then reappears in the party’s mainstream a few days later. The Congress party is well recognized for using this tactic to sow doubt, alter the environment, and introduce fresh problems to the country. They often deploy these tactics from time to time.”

The BJP was quick to react to the re-appointment of Pitroda, as it slammed the Congress saying, “The tormentor of the middle class is back.”

Pitroda stirred a major controversy with his comments on inheritance tax.

His views put Congress on the back foot as the party was already battling to deflate the public perception that it would redistribute public wealth among impoverished classes, including minorities.

  1. Not only that he may be handling Gandhi’s overseas funds. Govt should take this into account.
